How to Connect to an Infrakit Site

6 min. readlast update: 01.08.2026

This article applies to the new Xsite® 3D software.

The new integration between Xsite Manage and Infrakit is a cloud-to-cloud solution compliant with the ISO/TS 15143-4 standard. Xsite Manage is ready to integrate with third-party Site Management Systems that deliver design data, measured data, work orders, and as-built data.

Features

  • Synchronize as-built and design data between from Infrakit to the Machine Control Systems via Xsite Manage.
  • Work orders are delivered from Infrakit to the Machine Control Systems via Xsite Manage.
  • File packages are delivered from Infrakit to the Machine Control Systems via Xsite Manage.
  • Import the Infrakit Site into Xsite Manage to enable integration between the systems.
  • The integration between Infrakit and Xsite Manage in the upcoming Xsite® 3D software is a cloud-to-cloud integration, and the local Infrakit client will no longer be needed with next generation machine control system.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • You have access rights to the Infrakit project and work orders.
  • The Infrakit project and at least one work order have been created.
  • You have a valid Xsite Manage user account.
  • The required design data has been uploaded to Infrakit.

Infrakit

Infrakit is a cloud-based site management platform for medium-sized and large infrastructure projects. Login with organization admin role that enables creating new projects for your organization.

  1. Create a new project by defining the project name, coordinate system, height system, and project users.

The coordinate and height systems are not synchronized from project settings to the Xsite Manage cloud service. These files must be uploaded separately in the project’s Files tab.

  2. Go to the Files tab. Create a main folder for the design data, and then upload the design data into this folder.

  3. Add the coordinate system, height system, and code list to the Files tab. Upload the files directly to the root folder (not to subfolders). The files are then synchronized to Xsite Manage and Xsite® 3D machine control systems.

  4. Navigate back to the map overview and create equipment assignments.

Use the ASSIGNMENTS tab to create and manage assignments. Click + Create assignment, enter a name, select equipment (using filters or checkboxes), and review your selections. All created assignments appear in the list below.

Assignments and file packages are synchronized to the Xsite Manage and Xsite 3D machine control systems.

  5. Import Site from Infrakit

Log in to Xsite Manage and navigate to the organization’s Sites workspace.
Create a new site by importing it from the Infrakit cloud service.

  6. Authenticate with Infrakit using your personal Infrakit credentials.

  7. Select the Infrakit Site you want to import and confirm the selection.

If the Site does not appear after import, verify your Infrakit access rights and ensure the work order contains assigned data.

The Site is imported into Xsite Manage.

    Design Data and Settings

Only the documents defined in the Infrakit work order are imported into the Site. Files and folders are read-only, and adding or removing data is not supported for Sites imported from Infrakit.

In addition to the design data, the coordinate system, height system, and code list are imported from Infrakit into the Site settings in Xsite Manage.

  8. Add Machine Control System

Next, add the Xsite® 3D machine control system to the Site.

Once the machine has been successfully added to the Xsite Manage cloud service, it is automatically added to the corresponding Infrakit project in the Infrakit cloud service.

  9. Assign Work Order in Infrakit

Open the Infrakit cloud service and edit the previously created work order.
Assign the work order to the desired Xsite® 3D machine control system.

Once the design data models are linked to the work order, the Xsite® 3D machine control system receives the required data directly to the Site.

  10. Operator View

In the Xsite® 3D machine control system, the Site is visible to the operator.
The operator can see only the data defined in the work order.

The design data included in the work order is ready for the operator to use and perform the work.
